    Jennifer Hardesty

    Executive Director

    Founder of Port Townsend Ballet in 2019

    Trained with Northern California Ballet, Boston Ballet, Walnut Hill, San Francisco Ballet, & under Suzanne Farrell directly

    Bachelor of Science in Exercise and Sports Science with a minor in Gerontology from the University of San Francisco

    Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Pacific University, Oregon

  • John Bishop Artistic Director of Port Townsend Ballet

    John Bishop

    Artistic Director, Ballet, Pointe, & Variations Instructor

    Began ballet and piano studies at age 8; and a professional career at 16 with The Milwaukee Ballet Company

    Performed with 20+ companies internationally

    Worked alongside George Balanchine, Mikhail Baryshnikov, and Andre Eglevsky

    Choreographed & restaged 50+ original works & full-length classical ballets

    Awarded Best Choreography at the St. Petersburg International Ballet Competition in 2004

    Trained dancers who now perform with prestigious companies and professional figure skaters, including Olympic gold medalist Shizuka Arakawa

    Trained at Cornish, The Juilliard School, throughout Seattle, & currently studies pedagogy with somatic pioneer Bill Evans in Port Townsend

    Toured internationally with Khambatta Dance Company and Locate Dance. Performed in Quito with Compañía Nacional de Danza del Ecuador.

    Earned a BFA and a Master's in Architecture from the University of Washington. Studied ballet and architecture abroad in Rome, Italy

    Owns & operates a residential design firm in Port Townsend

    Performed professionally with Bay Pointe Ballet, Santa Clara Ballet, Peninsula Ballet Theatre, and Columbia Classical Ballet in South Carolina.
